I completed this over the weekend. I removed some of the heaviness from the right side of his face and I think that has improved his likeness somewhat. I hope you like it.

Jack White WIP
Another pastel that I began over the weekend, this time a rendition of Jack White. I'm going with a predominantly red and black theme as those are the colours that Jack himself has stated are his personal colours.

Gotye in Oil Pastels
I went to Currys Art store on Saturday and purchased a set of 48 Mungyo Gallery Artist Oil Pastels. Great value at $9.99 (on sale) and they took to the surface of my pastel paper very well, a 19" x 25" sheet of Canson Mi-Teintes, Ochre. I cut out 2 sheets from that to a size of 11" x 17" so that I can get two works done from the one sheet. I really like the speed at which pastels allow me to work. I started it on Saturday afternoon and after a few hours work here and there it's pretty much complete except for a tweak or two. The subject here, Gotye. Jack White is next up.

Expected Goose P-47N Acrylic Study
Added the rest of the insignia and the 5" HVAR rockets. My larger painting will follow the color scheme and the atmosphere that I established with this sketch. Acrylic on board, 10.25" x 5"

Expected Goose P-47N WIP
I made a little more progress on this, adding the canopy, prop and tail insignia. I enjoy the process of adding in the little details as it brings the piece to life, should be finished this in the next day or two and then it's on to the larger work.

Expected Goose P-47N WIP
I've begun a small acrylic study of a P-47N. The subject here is a 463rd FS P-47N SN 44-89320 "Expected Goose". This piece is to establish a general overall "feel" and colour scheme for my larger painting of Detroit Miss II which I would like to start soon.
