Handel WIP Update

Another update with the figure being built with the help of cutout masks. I used the same technique on my Bach portrait.

In going through my files I came across this old illustration. It was a commission I did quite a few years back, one of the many I'd forgotten about or that I don't have an image of. I made much more use of the airbrush back then. If I recall this one was 20 x 15, gouache on illustration board.

He's all varnished and shiny and ready to frame.

Toby WIP Update

Here is the piece on the cusp of completion. Need to add a few subtleties to the eyes I think, and the whiskers, very carefully with a fine point brush. I should probably just "indicate" them to avoid them being too noticeable. I want them there but only as a subtle detail.

The nose has been fleshed out and the neck has been started using a flat brush with the fine edge used to draw thin strokes to indicate fur.

I realized the eyes were too small and too far apart. I think this update captures his character a bit more.
