Marilyn Monroe (Version 2)

My alternate version portrait of Marilyn Monroe. My wife Marta mentioned to me that she thought the first image of Marilyn didn't look flattering enough and that she looked "pissed off". I depicted her again, this time in a happier demeanour. I hope you like it. Both drawing are rendered with pencil and charcoal on Strathmore Archival Paper. 9.25" x 12"

FDR Portrait

My rendition of Franklin Roosevelt, 32nd President of the United States of America. I admire Roosevelt as a humanitarian who was called to serve at one of the most turbulent times in history. He introduced Social Security, and led his country through WWII, ultimately passing away before the war's end but cementing his legacy as among the finest to hold office as President of the U.S. Pencil and charcoal on Strathmore paper. 9.5" x 12"

ME-109 digital profile of Oberleutnant Franz Von Werra. Von Werra was downed in 1940 during the Battle of Britain. He escaped from a maximum security prison camp in Canada, made his way through the U.S. to Mexico and South America. He returned to service in April of 1941 but disappeared due to engine failure over the North Sea near Katwijk, Holland on October 25, 1941 and presumed killed in action. His story was made into a movie in the 1950's called "The One That Got Away" and is also the subject of a book. His entire biography can be read on Wikipedia, it's quite interesting. Adobe Illustrator.

My mother-in-law commissioned these three paintings to take home to Macedonia with her. Two are 8” x 10” and the other is 5” x 7”. All are acrylic on canvas
