Lake Placid
A few images from my recent trip to Lake Placid. We took in a Canada-US women's under-22 game at the Herb Brooks Arena, sight of the Miracle on Ice in 1980. We also climbed two mountains, Whiteface Mountain which is mostly climbed by car, the last 1/8th of a mile climbed on foot, very challenging. We also climbed Cascade Mountain, entirely on foot. It's the easiest to climb in the Adirondack Range, requiring no climbing gear, but it is an endurance and fitness test for the legs and lungs. It takes two hours to climb up and slightly less to scale down although that presents it's own challenges. The cemetery pic is in front of the Remington Family gravesite in Canton, New York, where Frederic Remington was born in 1861.
