Bach in Pastels Update

More progress, just the church to do now. I usually leave a piece for a few days and come back to it to see if there is anything that needs tweaking.

Bach in Pastels Update

More progress, the wig is almost complete, need to tweak it by trimming it back a little bit in places to give it a more irregular shape, less of an oval, and blocked in the chin area.

J. S. Bach in Oil Pastel

I've begun a portrait in pastel of J.S. Bach. I would like to get across a sense of universality because his music is revered for its intellectual depth, technical command, and artistic beauty. Even more than being a prolific composer, he was a servant above all, creating a monumental body of work while facing difficult life circumstances. The thing that I find most amazing about Bach was his lack of concern over fame and fortune, being mainly concerned with glorifying God through his music and toiling for the church as an organist and choir director.
