Desert Challengers

Here is the beginnings of my next oil pastel. The initial linear is transferred to frisket film by burnishing the film over the linear. No pencil actually touches the pastel paper. Then the frisket is transferred to the paper and is cut out right there, being careful not to cut through to the surface, before I begin applying the pastel to paper.

Mustang Country (completed)

Ford designer John Najjar, who was a fan of the P-51 Mustang fighter plane, is credited with using the name for his creation. It is now in it's sixth generation and remains one of the most popular muscle cars. Here is the final piece, oil pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper. Size is 24.5" x 12.25

Getting the Christmas Mail

Here is a small WIP for a change of pace. Acrylic on board, 4.5" x 6.25". This represents about 6 hours work so it should be done tomorrow if I have time to work on it.

A depiction of a first generation Camaro alongside its 5th generation cousin. The name was conceived by GM executives Bob Lund and Ed Rollett. The word "camaro" means "friend, pal, or comrade" according to the French-English dictionary. I included a couple of linears and pics of my work space. The middle pic of my workspace shows some of the cut frisket film used for masking. Final size is 24.5" x 12.25" on Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper.

Mustang Thoroughbreds WIP

This is another piece in the Muscle Car series, an acrylic working sketch for a larger oil pastel to come. It portrays a 1965 Mustang GT350 and it's counterpart, the 2013 GT. This one is 10.5" x 5.25". This one is almost complete, just need to finish the "live Mustangs" in the background which I hope will enhance the theme.
